Today I read the article about the Free Trade Area of the Americas summit that will take place in Miami in November. The big fuss is not about all the different nations from north and South America that will come to meet to try to make some agreements to make the exchange of commercial enterprises easier within the continents, but rather how to even make the summit happen due to the expected 20,000 to 100,000 protesters that will come from every country in the world to form human blockades in an attempt to try to stop them from even being able to meet at all. I am so impressed with us. All the generations are coming together now. It's not just one. Through the Internet, what's it been? Ten short years, like minds have been able to come together like never before in order to speak up and speak out. I don't know if we really have a chance of making the world a better place. Through this protest, or the ones going on right now against the WTO meetings in Mexico, or any other protests. I really don't. History has shown us that rarely do people or doing good matter. Never have. Money does and always will. The people with money write our human history. We do not read the histories of people who were good doers and change makers and people protectors. Instead we study the histories of the people, countries, empires, and governments who have had the most money or power throughout our civilization. 

I think what this means is that yes OJ did get away with it. And so did Clinton when he sold us out to China or lied to 250 million on live TV, or Reagan when he lied and sold all those weapons, or Bush when he lied about no new taxes or Bush Jr. when he sent the troops into Iraq for all those phony reasons. Chances are they’ll get away with all of it. And in time the lies the deceit, the manipulation and deception of it all will slowly be twisted so when years later we study it as history in our text books and encyclopedias no one will even remember that there was even a question of any wrong doing. It will only be mentioned in one sentence, referred to as “the controversial aspect.” This is nature of being a human today. but I don't think it will always be this way. I see a future where this could never happen, but for now it’s the way of the world. Always has been. So some 50,000 idealistic proactive people may fly and hike and drive into Miami in November to try to stop all these nations and large corporations from getting together in order to expedite aforementioned large selfish faceless greedy corporations from finding a way to exploit small poor desperate countries in South America from selling their people and their land and our environment out. But will they accomplish something? No. Probably not. America is at the point now where its been so sold out to large corporations that its just going to do whatever it wants to. There is no watchdog. There's no mother hen looking out for us. The whole world tried to warn us and stop us from invading Iraq, and that didn't help. America did it anyway. Things like NAFTA and the WTO and the world bank. These things are way beyond now.

Here's the catch. Maybe the people and countries don't care.
